First-Time Botox: What to Expect From Consultation to Results
By Mallory Radvansky, APRN-CNP · June 23, 2026
Your first Botox appointment should feel calm and informed, not rushed. Here is what a typical visit looks like at Pretty Rad.
Before you come in
Book online or call or text (740) 317-5999. If you take blood thinners, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a neuromuscular condition, let us know, because these matter for safety.
The consultation
Every appointment begins with a conversation. We talk about what bothers you, what you would like to change, and just as importantly what you do not want to change. We watch how your face moves when you raise your brows, frown and smile, and we review your medical history.
You will leave the consultation knowing the plan, the areas we recommend, and what to expect. There is no pressure to treat more than you want.
The treatment
The injections use very fine needles. Most clients describe a quick pinch. The treatment itself usually takes only a few minutes.
Right afterward
You may notice small bumps or slight redness that settle quickly. We will give you aftercare instructions, which commonly include avoiding rubbing the treated areas and strenuous exercise for a period. Follow the guidance we give you.
When you will see results
Results develop gradually. Many people notice changes within several days and see the full effect at about two weeks. If we plan a follow-up, this is when we check in.
How long it lasts
Most clients enjoy results for about three to four months. Many return on a regular schedule to maintain them.
The goal: still you
Our philosophy is simple: refreshed, never frozen. Conservative placement keeps your expressions natural.
